Léa Touzé

Léa Touzé́ is a singer-songwriter of Franco-Catalan origin who grew up in Barcelona, where Catalans, Andalusians, Galicians, Roma and immigrants of all backgrounds live together.

Drawing from this hub of inspiration, she has collaborated with several bands in genres as varied as hip-hop, new flamenco and Catalan rumba.

After her arrival in Québec, the bohemian artist participated in many rumba flamenco dance performances with local Montréal artists. In 2014, she had a life-changing encounter with Dominique Soulard. This new musical collaboration allowed her to devote herself to writing lyrics, while also composing through improvisation.

As an advocate for social justice, the artist has spoken out against gender violence, and has performed at Songs of Freedom, an international concert for freedom of expression in Algeria. With her soaring voice and warm stage presence, Léa Touzé instantly charms audiences with generosity, authenticity and soul.

Stéphanie Gagnon

Flamenco Guitar

Curious and passionate, Stéphanie studied Performing – Jazz Guitar at Laval University and then entered the classical guitar universe with Christophe Pratiffi. She is interested in the blending of classical and popular music found in the Latin American composers’ repertoire.

Its versatility allows it to travel freely between chamber music and the various popular musics (rock, blues, gospel and jazz).

Convinced of the benefits of music, she has been a member of SAMS (Société des Arts en Milieu de Santé) since 2017.

Her unique musical journey led straight to flamenco guitar when she collaborated with choreographer and dancer Karine Parisé. Fascinated by the beauty of the melodies and the broken harmony of flamenco, she finds the balance between the necessary rigour of classical music and the freedom that popular music allows.

Marie-Andrée Cloutier

Bass and flamenco dance

She is introduced to flamenco first on guitar, and it is especially as a dancer that she will perform on stage.

Performer and choreographer at Caravana Flamenca (2002-14) and Ballet Arte España (2007-12), she also participates in various productions, including various versions of opera Carmen de Bizet (OSM and Opera of Rimouski).

It is with the Trio Camelo (20013-16) that she begins as a bassist, accompanying the compositions of Carina Lorenzo. After a few years as a dancer and bass player with MIRADA FLAMENCA (2014-20), she wants to give more room to the musician in her.

With its incarnate texts and musical arrangements inspired by flamenco, rumba and other styles, LA LÉA finally gives it this opportunity.

Along with the stage, Marie-Andrée teaches flamenco dance in Montreal, Quebec and Rimouski.

Eric Breton

Percussions

Depuis plus de 20 ans, il se spécialise en percussions et rythmes du monde.

Ses multiples collaborations avec des artistes provenant de cultures et d’horizons musicaux diversifiés lui ont permis de parfaire son art.

Au cours de ces années, il a enrichi son répertoire, tant de la musique nord-africaine, irlandaise, péruvienne, argentine, d’Europe de l’Est, arménienne et indienne, que de la musique traditionnelle québécoise.

​On peut l’entendre avec Paul Audy Ubuntu, Trio Camelo, Magillah Klez Kabare, Tambouyés, Intakto, Natalie MacMaster, Sultans of string, Transcestral en plus d’accompagner et de collaborer à la création de spectacles de danse flamenco.

Il est appellé à participer à des enregistrements pour des projets de musique originale.

Hichem Khalfa

Trumpet

Born in France, Hichem began trumpeting at the age of 7. He obtained a D.E.M (Diplôme d’étude musicales), studied classical trumpet at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, in the class of Gérard Métrailler (Co-Solist with the orchestra of the French-speaking Switzerland). and studied at McGill University.

In parallel to his studies, Hichem has built a solid stage experience by playing both in symphonic orchestras and in jazz or electro bands, in many countries: France, Switzerland, China, Mexico (Cervantino festival), European tour with Blitz the Ambassador, numerous European tours with The National Fanfare of Kadebostany as well as in Canada. Since arriving in Montreal in 2012, he has played with several local bands such as Kalmunity and Nomadic Massive and released his first album in 2015, Stories without words.

Dominique Soulard

Composition, classical guitar and electric guitar

Flamenco guitarist, he was part of LA from 2013 to 2023.

In the world of flamenco dance since the late 1990s, he has participated in numerous creations by Ballet Arte Flamenco de España, on tour across Quebec.

With Jesse Cook and his legendary rumba he traveled the world from 2005 to 2011. Dominique also collaborated with Claire Marchand (Winnipeg) and Esmeralda Enrique (Toronto).
